Dear cooking and baking friends, thank you for visiting Madame Cuisine! π
My name is Sonja, I live in Munich, and I share with you a great passion: inspiring recipes and the preparation of good quality food. I just love the handling of food products, to see how a dish slowly takes shape, and how the scent of herbs, spices or baked slowly pulls through the apartment.
Even as a little girl, I learned how to cook and bake from my parents. I sat next to my father on the worktop while he cooked, and I was allowed to help my mother with the baking. Although there was never much money - we never spared on food. We always used fresh ingredients, and everyone helped somewhere. Afterwards, we all sat down at the big table to eat, laugh, and have a good time.

Since my parents tended to be late risers at the weekends, I was the first in the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone. I loved sneaking into the kitchen in the morning, the whole house still silent, to prepare a nice breakfast. I cut fruit, boiled eggs, arranged sausage and cheese on a plate and baked fresh rolls. Once everything was ready, I couldn't wait for everyone to trudge out of their bedrooms.
Not much has changed since then β for me, the kitchen is still the nicest and most sociable place in the house and I'm happy when a meal has turned out well, it tastes good and everyone is full and satisfied.
So it was kind of obvious and only a matter of time before I started the blog "Madame Cuisine" in November 2013. And this is now my Englisch version Madame Cuisine, established in 2022. I hope that I can to inspire you and show you that cooking doesn't always involve a lot of effort. For me it is always a nice feeling when you have prepared a meal completely yourself! Please try it out and let me share your results. Feel free to ask questions, send praise or criticism - I am happy about every visitor and will try answer all comments.
Dearest greeting, Sonja
